The education, resources, accreditation and community platform for self-helpers, therapists, coaches and other mental health practitioners who wish to add to their mental health capability with Orpheus.
See our sciencePeople come to the Academy for two different reasons. Choose the one that fits.
Using Orpheus for yourself, on your own unwanted emotional responses, beliefs and patterns. You do not need to be a therapist, coach or practitioner. Start with the app, and take the training too: it is geared towards practitioners, but it explains how best to use the tools in the app.
Orpheus for myselfFor therapists, coaches and other practitioners asking whether Orpheus adds a capability to the work they already do. Start with Sally Baker's free introduction and live webinar for practitioners, then decide whether to train.
Orpheus in my practiceNot sure? If you are a practitioner but only want Orpheus for yourself for now, take the self-help route. The practitioner route will still be here.
If you want Orpheus for your own unwanted emotional responses, beliefs and patterns, start with the app. You do not need to be a therapist, coach or practitioner, and you do not need to join the Academy.
You do need to take the training. It is geared towards practitioners, but it explains how best to use the tools in the app: what each process is for, in what order to use them, and what to expect. Level 1 covers unwanted emotional responses; Level 2 covers beliefs.
Orpheus has two distinct pathways: personal use and professional practitioner use.
If you are learning Orpheus for your own personal use, you can access the relevant training without becoming a professional Orpheus practitioner or joining the Academy.
If you are a therapist, coach or other appropriately qualified practitioner who wants to use Orpheus professionally with clients, you will need to complete the relevant practitioner training and assessment. Successful completion of the level 1 assessment qualifies you to join the Orpheus Academy and use the level 1 process professionally.
For practitioners, Academy membership provides the framework for developing your Orpheus skills, progressing through the training levels and using Orpheus within appropriate professional and ethical boundaries.
Before getting into the different training levels, it helps to understand what Orpheus actually does.
In simple terms, Orpheus uses short, structured audio processes designed to help change unwanted emotional responses and beliefs that continue automatically, even when someone consciously wants to feel or respond differently. The aim is to work with the response itself rather than requiring someone to repeatedly analyse or describe the story behind it.
At the heart of Orpheus is the Orpheus Decoupling Process. The different audio processes within the system have specific purposes. The Negative Emotion Destroyer is used to work with unwanted emotional responses, while Creator and Eraser are used within the wider process for working with beliefs and patterns.
The Academy teaches practitioners how to use these processes progressively. Level 1 focuses on emotional responses. Level 2 develops the work further into beliefs, and level 3 introduces more specialised applications.
This means you do not need to understand all the Orpheus terminology before you begin. The training is structured so that you learn the underlying process first and build your knowledge and practical skills from there.
There is an exam after each training course. If you pass, we will invite you to become a member of the Orpheus Academy, with a commercial licence to use the Orpheus Decoupling Process in your own practice, a listing in our Find a practitioner directory, and access to our private members' forum.

Buy nowLevel 1 training is around two hours of video introducing the Orpheus Decoupling Process and its cornerstone tool, our innovative Negative Emotion Destroyer tracks. These work on unwanted emotions by disconnecting the emotional load from the rest of the thought or memory that triggers the feeling.
Buy nowLevel 2 training builds on level 1 and brings in how to work on beliefs and patterns of behaviour. We teach you how to use our innovative Creator and Eraser tracks to rapidly remove life-limiting beliefs such as "I am not good enough" and implanting positive new beliefs like "I can do this!"
Buy nowLevel 3 training allows our Academy members to build specialisms in areas like addiction, career coaching and eating disorders. Level 3 is only open to individuals and organisations who are currently licensed to use the Orpheus Decoupling Process.
Coming soonAs well as providing training, we are building a global community of self-helpers and Orpheus Therapists/Practitioners who want the best possible tools and techniques for their clients. The community is up and running: members have a private members' forum, a public listing in our Find a practitioner directory, and client access to the app at member rates.
See membership benefits Book nowThe Orpheus Decoupling Process involves different tools and systems/processes. The training starts with level 1 and this must be taken before level 2 as the courses build on the previous trainings. You have to start at level 1 and then, if you choose, do level 2. You can purchase both courses at the same time but level 2 will not make sense unless you have completed level 1.
No, these are separate courses. Level 2 builds on level 1 and so you must take the courses in order.
Level 1 is around two hours of video and level 2 is around one and a half hours. They are pre-recorded so you can do them at your leisure. The courses are for educational purposes and are suitable for anyone with an interest in mental health. However, if you are a therapist, coach or practitioner, then you must pass our exams at 50% or more before being invited to become a member of the Orpheus Academy. Membership is annual and includes a commercial licence for individual therapists who are working with individuals (not companies).
No. You can give your clients access to the app so that they don't need to subscribe separately with Orpheus. There is a charge to you as a therapist but this is vastly reduced from the RRP prices for your clients, even after you add your own admin fee to the price you charge your clients.
The app is a progressive web app, meaning it works through the web browser on your mobile device. You can give them access once you are a member of the Orpheus Academy.
The fee gives you a commercial licence and 12 months access to the tools which you are qualified to use. Level 1 tools include our Negative Emotion Destroyer tracks which work on automatic emotional responses. If you are level 1 and level 2 qualified, you will get access to those tracks and our innovative Creator and Eraser tracks, which work on subconscious belief systems. You also get a public listing in our Find a practitioner directory and access to the private members' forum. The full list is on the membership benefits page.
We encourage practitioners to make that judgement for themselves. You can explore the existing research, practitioner experience and testimonials, attend Sally Baker's free practitioner introduction, and consider where the Orpheus Decoupling Process might add something useful to the approaches you already use. The purpose of the introductory pathway is to allow you to understand the method before deciding whether you want to invest in formal training.
The Orpheus Academy is still developing and has a growing community of early practitioner adopters. Alongside this, Orpheus is continuing to build its research base through academic evaluation. We will continue to publish evidence as it becomes available so that practitioners can assess both the potential and the limitations of the approach.
We believe our technology can make a real difference to the mental health crisis. Services are completely overwhelmed, there are not enough talk-therapists to get close to keeping up with demand, people are languishing in waiting lists and suffering. We want to build our community of Orpheus Academy members to help as many people as possible. We are working with some of the best universities in the world to build the scientific evidence for what this system and toolkit can do.
